My Experience with Purple Hair Products on Colored Hair

When it comes to taking care of colored hair, using the right products is essential. I recently decided to try Purple Hair Products on my colored hair, and I was amazed by the results. I could immediately tell that my hair felt healthier and looked shinier. In this blog post, I will share my experience using Purple Hair Products on my colored hair and the amazing results that I achieved.

What are Purple Hair Products and Why Should You Use Them on Colored Hair?

In my recent blog post, I shared my experience of having my hair done like a balayage, and after 2 months, I noticed that the color of my hair started to get tarnished yellow, which I don't like. Then I remembered that my hairstylist, Ms. Zharpey advised me to use purple shampoo to maintain my hair color.

So, I decided to change my whole hair care routine, and it's time to update and really invest in my hair care.

Purple hair products are specifically designed to combat brassiness and maintain the cool tone of colored hair. These products usually contain purple pigments that counteract the warm, yellow tones that develop in bleached or highlighted hair over time.

If you have colored hair, it's important to use the right products to protect and maintain your hair's vibrancy. The wrong products can cause damage, strip color, and leave your hair looking dull and lifeless.

This is why purple hair products are becoming increasingly popular among those with colored hair. They are an effective and safe way to keep your hair looking fresh and bright between salon appointments.

My First Impressions of Purple Hair Products

I bought Tresemme Color Radiance & Repair for Bleached Hair Purple Shampoo, Loreal Paris Purple Conditioner, and the Tresemme Purple Treatment Mask.

I was so lucky that these products were on Sale in the Watson store, so I got the best deal. I was really having a hard time deciding if I was really going to invest in this new hair care routine. Because the sizes of these products are a little bit small compared to my usual shampoo and conditioner, which are huge. But, anyway, I still bought it. I just reminded myself that my hair needs proper care; it's going to die if I do not take action.

Tresemme Color Radiance & Repair for Bleached Hair Purple Shampoo

The formula helps neutralize brassy tones in bleached, blonde, and highlighted hair. The purple pigments in the shampoo counteract the yellow tones, leaving hair looking bright and vibrant.

Well, basically, the color is Purple since it's obviously a Purple shampoo,  but the texture is like any other shampoo. It lathers nicely and evenly throughout my hair, which made it easy to wash out. I also noticed that it has no scent. I've been using the shampoo for a week now, and I can say it has slowly stopped turning my Balayage hair a rusty yellow color.

Loreal Paris Purple Conditioner

It is a hydrating conditioner that helps maintain blonde or bleached hair's cool undertones. It contains purple pigments that help neutralize yellow and orange tones, leaving the hair looking vibrant and healthy. The texture is creamy and easy to apply, making my hair soft and manageable. It also has no scent, and I also noticed that my hair became soft when it dried.

Tresemme Purple Treatment Mask

Tresemme Purple Treatment Mask is a deep conditioning treatment that helps maintain hair color by neutralizing any unwanted yellow tones. It is formulated with a blend of purple pigments, keratin, and vitamin E that work together to nourish and strengthen the hair. The texture is creamy and thick, and it spreads evenly throughout the hair. I left it on for 5 minutes and rinsed it off with lukewarm water. After using this treatment mask, my hair felt smoother, looked brighter, and was less prone to breakage.

How to Use Purple Hair Products on Colored Hair

Using Purple Hair Products on colored hair is an effective way to maintain the vibrancy of your hair color while preventing unwanted brassiness or yellowing. Follow these simple steps to get the best results from your Purple Hair Products:

Step 1: Start with clean, damp hair.
Before applying Purple Hair Products, it’s important to start with clean, damp hair. Shampoo your hair using a sulfate-free shampoo specifically formulated for colored hair, and then rinse thoroughly.

Step 2: Apply Purple Hair Products.
Depending on the product you’re using, you can either apply Purple Hair Products directly to your hair or mix it with your regular conditioner. Be sure to follow the instructions on the product label.

Step 3: Distribute the product evenly.
To ensure even coverage, use a wide-tooth comb or your fingers to distribute the product evenly throughout your hair. Pay particular attention to the ends, as they are the most porous and likely to become yellow or brassy.

Step 4: Let the product sit.
Allow the Purple Hair Products to sit on your hair for the recommended amount of time. Most products need to sit for 5–10 minutes before rinsing.

Step 5: Rinse thoroughly.
Rinse your hair thoroughly with cool water to remove the Purple Hair Products. Cool water helps to close the hair cuticle and seal in the color, resulting in shiny and vibrant hair.

Step 6: Style as usual.
Once you’ve rinsed out the Purple Hair Products, you can style your hair as usual. Your hair should feel soft and hydrated, with a noticeable improvement in color vibrancy and brightness.
Overall, using Purple Hair Products on colored hair is a simple and effective way to keep your hair looking vibrant and fresh. Just be sure to follow the instructions on the product label, and you’ll be on your way to beautiful and healthy hair in no time!
