The Best Skin Care to Use While Pregnant by The Potion from Coreelle

Hi loves!!! how are you? It's been such a long time since I haven't written anything on my website, but here I am packed with a lot of stories and ideas to share. By the way, the title of this post might confuse you but you read it right "Pregnancy". I'm happy to share with you that I am 6 months pregnant. And since then there's a lot of changes and adjustments has been going on like the updated skincare routine. Honestly, since I got pregnant I became my own Dermatologist with the help of trusted website researched, friends and family who are in the medical field.

Being pregnant you have to be careful about what you eat, drink and apply with your skin because it's not only you who will get affected but also the baby inside you. That's why I'm very careful with the skincare products that I used, I am obsessed with taking care of my skin and that doesn't change when I get pregnant.

There are a lot of ingredients that are not safe for pregnant women but the major products or ingredients are:

Retinoids

Hydroquinone

Salicylic acid

Tetracyclines

Spironolactone

Now let me share with you the newfound skincare product that I'm really in love with, The Potions from Coreelle. I already mentioned Coreelle before in my previous blog My updated Pregnancy Haircare products, and how much I love the Mellow Touch Ultra Hair Repair Treatment, you can check it out HERE. Once again, Coreelle is a Korean Beauty retailer of promising brands like Mellow Touch; the Potions; House of Dowha; Celimax; Swanicoco and Logically, Skin. I received new skincare products from them from the brand The Potions, Hyaluronic Acid Ampoule, Peptide Ampoule, Cica Complex Cream Mixer and the Centella Asiatica Water Essence. However, due to my current pregnancy, I'm not really confident to try Cica Complex Cream Mixer and the Centella Asiatica Water Essence as there is no definite research if these products are safe for pregnant women. But, I'm sure that the other two products Hyaluronic Acid Ampoule and Peptide Ampoule are safe for pregnant women.

The Potions, is a Korean beauty brand that focuses on efficiency, simplicity and can mix and match depending on your needs. On Coreelle website they have 34 Potions products, a large number of products to choose from basic to products that are specialized for skin concerns like the Acne Relief Set, Radiance Replenish Set and the Deep Hydration Trio.

I received the Hyaluronic Acid Ampoule and Peptide Ampoule which I'm very confident that it is safe for pregnant women, plus I did my research as well.

Hyaluronic Acid Ampoule

Hyaluronic Acid is one of the most searched skincare ingredients in the past years. And I also agree with this as I've been using Hyaluronic Acid even before I get pregnant and the result is fascinating. A brief background, Hyaluronic Acid is naturally present in our body it is called hyaluronan and can be found in our skin, connective tissue, and the eye. It gives proper moisture balance in the skin, reducing excessive oil production that clogs pores and produces breakouts. It improves the skin's texture and encourages skin renewal. The Hyaluronic Acid Ampoule by The Potions reminds me of The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid, the packaging is a white frosted glass bottle with a glass dropper, in 20ml 0.67 ft. oz. It has a minimal label around the glass bottle and the good thing is that their directions on how to use are in English, so the customer who can't read the Korean language can understand how to apply the product. At first, I don't like the rubber stopper around the sealing surface of the bottle because when I'm in a hurry I need easy access to drop the dropper in the bottle fast and smooth then pull it up quickly to drop again the substance in my skin. With the rubber stopper, it takes me a little bit of effort to do the process. But then, for using the Hyaluronic Acid Ampoule for more than 15 days now I get used to it. Most Hyaluronic products have a little bit of smell, however, the Potions Hyaluronic Acid Ampoule has no smell at all, it is very refreshing since I'm very sensitive to smells nowadays. I like that the Hyaluronic Acid Ampoule has a little bit of thick, gel-like texture and it glides smoothly and effortlessly on the skin, it also absorbs into the skin so fast leaving my skin hydrated, supple and smooth. Did my skin improve after using Hyaluronic Acid Ampoule? After using the product for more than 15 days I can say it gave my skin the hydration it deserves and deeply hydrate my skin, no more skin dryness.

Peptide Ampoule

Honestly speaking It's my first time using Peptide, before I used it I did my research and according to Deanne Robinson, MD, a dermatologist and the president and co-founder of Modern Dermatology of Connecticut "Peptides are proteins that the skin needs for optimal growth and are safe during pregnancy." Without a doubt, I started applying Peptide Ampoule after the Hyaluronic Acid Ampoule. Peptides are amino acids that form into a specific protein that the skin needs. Collagen is made up of three polypeptide chains, thus adding peptides can help your skin produce more collagen. Collagen can help you get firmer, younger-looking skin. The packaging is the same with Hyaluronic Acid Ampoule simple, frosted glass bottle with a glass dropper and a rubber stopper. My dilemma with the packaging is also the same with the Hyaluronic Acid Ampoule, the rubber stopper. The color of the substance is a bit yellowish, surprisingly no smell at all which is a plus point, the substance texture is a clear runny gel-like texture and it glides smoothly the same as Hyaluronic Acid Ampoule. It absorbs fast in my skin without any foamy residue, just absorbs cleanly and smoothly. After using it for more than two weeks it makes my skin plump and smoother.

Final thought

When it comes to price points, I can say The Potions are quite expensive from the other brand that offers the same ingredients and the packaging is a bit smaller, other brands start with 30 ml bottles unlike The Potions it's only 20 ml bottle. For no-fragrance, easily absorbs, no foamy effect I like The Potions better. I owned a Hyaluronic Acid from the other brand and it has a little bit of smell, but The Potions nothing at all. I've been using different kinds of skincare products for half of my life and I can say there are no major or drastic changes in my skin but after using the two ampoules consistently for a few weeks, my face feels firmer, my skin texture is improved, and my skin barrier feels renewed.
